Villa garden in rural Belgium

This ambitious project has been 4 years in the making, and will be, for a while to come, as any garden really is. The estate consists of a gate house, hunting lodge, carriage house, main house and kennels. The brief was to tie it all together with a relatively low maintenance scheme, consisting of hedges, trees, tree allees and hard landscaping. An important aspect was grounding the vast house to the landscape, which was done by adding two long double borders framed with pleached limes and Yew hedges, acting as ‘green shoulders’ to the house. A work in progress.
